About the Festival

The international art festival "Omsk, You're Just Space" is a large-scale project that brings together the best street artists from around the world to create unique murals in Omsk.

Festival History

From July 1 to September 14, representatives from 11 countries took part: the United Kingdom, Spain, Belarus, Israel, Argentina, the United States, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Italy, Colombia, and Russia. Creating this open-air museum required 77 days, 9,000 aerosol cans, and 3,500 liters of facade paint, transforming Omsk's streets into a living art gallery by covering over 16,000 square meters of residential building facades.

The festival featured both emerging artists, such as 14-year-old Omsk native Matvey Valevsky, and global street art stars like Pilot and his friend Hef from the USA, Yama11 from Italy (all members of the legendary crew "the_antidot"), the renowned British artist Rocket01 (whose work in Sochi became the festival's cover image), the iconic Spanish artist El Pez (whose pseudonym translates to "The Fish" and who began painting in the outskirts of his native Barcelona back in 1999), and the friend and admirer of Russian culture, Farid Rueda from Mexico, who fills every city he visits with vibrant colors. Interest in participating was also shown by Alexander Kupalyan, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, senior lecturer, associate professor at the Department of Painting and Composition of the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute, and head of the easel painting workshop.

Residents of the Omsk Region demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm in the campaign to host the festival. From June 1 to June 30, over 20,000 people voted on the Government Services portal for the right to create this museum in one of their city's districts.

The festival was organized with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Government of the Omsk Region, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, as well as festival partners including the companies "Four Paws," "GEOSCAN," and the hockey club "Avangard Omsk."
