"Alexander Pushnitsa" Mural

Alexander Pushnitsa is an outstanding USSR Master of Sports in Sambo, a three-time World Champion and World Championship silver medalist, three-time World Cup winner, two-time European Champion, nine-time USSR Champion, seven-time RSFSR Champion, three-time winner of the USSR Spartakiad, and an Honorary Citizen of Omsk. He served as captain of the USSR national Sambo team for 15 years. After retiring from his athletic career, he founded his own club, "Sambo-2000 named after Alexander Pushnitsa."

"I am painting a portrait of the decorated sambo wrestler Alexander Pushnitsa on the building of the Omsk Region Ministry of Sports. The composition consists of two parts: one shows the young athlete in the heat of a match, and the other depicts the mature, honored and esteemed Master of Sports," noted Aigul.
