"The Clown's Muse" Mural

This work is dedicated to Vyacheslav Polunin – a Soviet and Russian stage performer, clown-mime, and People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He is the most famous clown of all time, the President of the Academy of Fools. The author infuses practically every performance with new energy, because such is the nature of improvisation; it is the only way to keep his wondrous world alive. Entire scenes may disappear, only to be replaced by new ones.

"I attended a show by Vyacheslav Polunin and decided to depict a scene from the program here. The artist's productions are unique and unparalleled, inspired by nature. I portrayed the image of Vyacheslav Polunin's creative muse with elements from the act itself, embedding into the mural not just colors but also fantasies, and executed the work in the style of surrealism," shared the artist, Andrei Kataev.
