The Spanish graffiti artist El Pez has been known for his colorful, smiling fish characters since the 1990s. These fish have become his distinctive signature and emblem. They convey a positive and unique energy to passersby.

 
The artist began painting in his hometown of Barcelona, but his unique style soon propelled El Pez onto the international street art scene. His work can be found in art books, specialized magazines, and documentaries.

 
The Spanish artist's works have traveled across Europe and the United States. Today, El Pez exhibits his vibrant and life-affirming art in prestigious cities like New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris. In 2024, El Pez visited Russia for the second time. The mural in Omsk, featuring the famous artist's work, appeared thanks to the international street art festival "Omsk, You're Just Space."

"In this piece, I wanted to reflect my own imagined world and my original characters, integrating them into the format of a 10-story facade. My style is a fusion of graffiti, pop art, and comics. What I show in my work is a kind of game with my original characters. Primarily, my characters are a connection between different worlds—between the world of Barcelona and Russia. The painting also represents the interconnection of my style with the people who taught me, who inspired me, and the connection between myself and other artists. I love that my art provokes reactions and emotions in people. Through my art, I bring joy, happiness, and positivity into people's lives. I am confident that my mural will make the people in this neighborhood happy, and whenever they look at it on a sad day, it will make them smile," noted El Pez.
